The Project in its institutional stage is finished and it was an unique experience of PARTICIPATION in terms of intrapersonal and interpersonal relationship, as a comitmment to the success of learning and application of knowledge on Behaviour, the access to a wide variety of situations in which each child could experience limits and rules for its personal development and for the development of group.

The use of Information and Communication Technologies were essential for the development of the Project, considering aspects of communication between schools, between each school and its educational coomunity, learning, use of different techniques for diagnosis, analysis and evaluation and, of course, for dissemination.

May 2010 _______________________________

In May we had the Final Meeting of the Project in Saint Joseph Junior School, Sliema, MALTA.

The goals of this meeting were the presentation of some final products developed this year and the analysis and decisions about the countenance of the E-Book: activities carried out during this two years, pedagogical resources and impact in the school communities of each partner school.

The students of Saint Joseph Junior School showed to the group of foreign teachers and their parents a presentation regarding some elements of culture of each country (partners of the Project) and an Exhibition of works done by all classes.

April 2010 ____________________________________________

This month all partners started the elaboration of articles for the E-Book, one of the final products of this Project. The layout and publication will be done by the portuguese coordinator from Externato Santa Catarina.

Teachers Study Meeting - Cruz Quebrada - Portugal

The aim of the meeting was:

1. To present:

- the videos with songs, performed by children of each school partner, according to what as determined by Vrtec-Idrija;

- ideas for the final product(s) to present at the end of the Project;

- ideas for the layout of the product(s).

2. To learn about Portuguese School System and Externato Santa Catarina;

3. To reflect and discuss ideas for the final product(s) and to fix common instructions for the presentation of the activities that are being carried out;

4. To know some places and characteristics of the Portuguese Culture:

- Sintra and Cabo da Roca;

- Lisboa: Baixa Pombalina, Belém (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos e Padrão dos Descobrimentos);

- Fado and some folklore;

5. Study visit to Kidzania.

The first work session were about Characters, Songs, the Didactical Game and other activities, where each school partner presented its ideas and showed how the work has been developed.

On a second work session each school partner presented the development of the Project in this second year and shared with the others strategies and difficulties that have been feeling till now.

The third phase of this Study Meeting was crucial for the success of the Project: working in small groups, according to the age of students, and then sharing the results to the large group gave the necessary and positive stimulus to clarify the huge task of finishing this Project.

It was decided what would be the final product(s): an E-Book with DVDs of the activities, the Didactical Game and the Blogs/WebPages of each partner school that will present all the materials and activities developed in each institution.

Tasks were distributed among partners and a “technical group” decided the characteristics of layouts, colours, type and number of letter…

Meanwhile, some visits were made considering the aims of this Study Meeting and also trying a new approach to individual contacts, links and exchanging experiences and ideas. It was essential to create a positive atmosphere inside the large group in order that each participant felt common goals and objectives of the project and established better social relations with all the partner schools.

The next meeting, devoted to work with older children, will be in Cluj (Romania) between the 19th and 23rd of April 2010.

The aim of the meeting was:
1. To present :
- a resource CD with stories and related activities,
- a template of a resource CD with proverbs and related activities,
- a mini research »How we address others«;
2. To learn about Slovene school system and partner institutions,
3. To reflect and discuss how we can promote developing emotional/social intelligence in
children ;
4. To plan activities in Year 2 of the project.

Working meetings of teachers had been scheduled so that on the first day participants would have reported about their ideas and proposals for work in the second year of the project. A round table discussion on the next day offered a cue for reflection on the objectives of the project.

The next day, when only a trip was in the program, was aimed at individual contacts, links and exchanging experience and ideas.

The last day was devoted to work in small groups and coming to decisions about common activities in the future.

We agreed on the importance of setting the values of our project and assessing what the outcomes of the project would be for the children. Part of the work will be done in 3 groups, according to age groups of children.

Next meeting, devoted to work with younger children, will be in Portugal between 15th and 20th February 2010.

“Christmas in the partner countries”, for the school community

The eighty two students of the lower Primary started their researches about Christmas in the partner countries, as follow:
- 1st grade – Christmas in England and Ireland;
- 2nd grade – Christmas in Turkey and Malta;
- 3rd grade – Christmas in Italy, Slovenia and Romania;
- 4th grade – Christmas in Portugal.

Activity: Elaboration of Christmas postcards for the partner schools.

Activity: A question of values… (for children of 5 years old).

Christmas Party – Teachers presented a Play about Values.

Elaboration of blogues of the Project - in Portuguese and in English.
